每日可產(chǎn) 2～4 個(gè)卵，一生共可產(chǎn)卵 40～50 個(gè)，雌螨壽命約5～6周。[1] 寄生部位：疥螨常寄生于人體皮膚較柔軟嫩薄之處，常見于指間，腕屈側(cè)，肘窩，腋窩前后，腹股溝，外生殖器，乳房下等處；但兒童則全身皮膚均可被侵犯?；顒?dòng)與挖掘隧道：疥螨寄生在宿主表皮角質(zhì)層的深處，以角質(zhì)組織和淋巴液為食，并以螯肢和前跗爪挖掘，逐漸形成一條與皮膚平行的蜿蜒隧道。隧道zui長(zhǎng)可達(dá) 10～15mm。以雌螨所挖的隧道zui長(zhǎng)，每隔一段距離有小縱向通道通至表皮。雄螨與后若蟲亦可單獨(dú)挖掘，但極短，前若蟲與幼蟲則不能挖掘隧道，只生活在雌螨所挖的隧道中。雌螨每天能挖 0.5～5mm，一般不深入到角質(zhì)層的下面。交配受精后的雌螨，zui為活躍，每分鐘可爬行 2.5cm，此時(shí)也是zui易感染新宿主的時(shí)期。溫濕度的影響：雌性成蟲離開宿主后的活動(dòng)，壽命及感染人的能力與所處環(huán)境的溫度和相對(duì)濕度有關(guān)。溫度較低，濕度較大時(shí)壽命較長(zhǎng)，而高溫低濕則對(duì)其生存不利。
